Tired of the mainstream media giving a platform to racist scumbags and their demonic offspring?

There is an alternative to corporate dominated media – support Corporate Watch’s work dishing the dirt on global capitalism this Mayday.

So far in 2015 we have:

– exposed the companies bombing and imprisoning Palestinians
– published secret filming showing the “shit” conditions in a privately-run immigration detention centre
– revealed leaked documents showing a major home care company paying its workers below the minimum wage
– released False Dilemmas: A Critical Guide to the Euro Zone Crisis, explaining what’s really going on in the euro zone crisis and who is profiting from it
– given ‘DIY’ trainings and support to groups and campaigns investigating companies themselves

Receiving regular donations from supporters allows us to continue with this kind of work. If you can spare some money, visit our wesbite to set up a standing order or Paypal subscription or to give us a donation. If you can’t spare any money but still want to help out send this message to some friends, put it on social media or even better spend some time fighting capitalism and corporate power.

Corporate Watch events coming up soon:

– Documentary film screening in London

Film screening of new documentary film from Standoff Films, ”Working Illegally” looks behind politicians’ rhetoric, the closed walls and barbed wire of UK border enforcement, to expose the reality of immigration detention, raising pertinent questions concerning its nature and purpose. Told primarily through detainees’ testimonies, based on original research by Corporate Watch, this film offers critical insight into the labour that maintains the UK detention estate as well as a general introduction to the immigration detention system.

– The Climate vs Capitalism – Discussion on the UK climate movement

Members of the Corporate Watch workers’ coop invite you to discuss ways forward for the grassroots, anti-capitalist climate movement in the UK.

The aim of the workshops (which will be held first in London then Bristol, Brighton and Manchester) is to bring people together to discuss capitalism and climate change and hopefully consider ‘where next’ for the movement in the UK. There will be a follow-up meeting after the initial workshops have taken place where we hope to move discussions towards forms of organising and action. We will also arrange space for discussions to continue online between the workshops.

We want to be clear that we are coming from a certain political perspective: anti-capitalist and anti-authoritarian, and that certain things will not be up for discussion: whether climate change is happening, and whether or not we can or should be doing anything to stop it. We feel that in order to have a useful discussion, these things should be taken as given for all those attending. Please feel free to invite others who share this perspective.

The workshop will begin with a very brief introduction to the UK anti-capitalist climate movement, followed by an equally brief overview of existing organisations and actions planned. The rest of the workshop will be facilitated discussions around climate change and anti-capitalism, including time in small groups. We will suggest questions for people to discuss, but we welcome suggestions of other questions to consider.

LONDON // Wednesday 13th May 2015, 7-9.30pm //  London Action Resource Centre, 62 Fieldgate Street, London E1 1ES

BRISTOL, BRIGHTON and MANCHESTER dates and venues will be announced soon
